I've collected a few fossils over the years. This is part of one I found at Lyme Regis, it's a piece of an Ammonite from the Jurassic and I think that makes it around 150 million years old.

I’m learning to paint, trying to come to grips with seeing rather than looking. If it is about nothing else, painting is about persistence. Why onions? Because they’re cheap, last a long time, can be lit any number of ways and force me to think about what happens when the form turns away from the light. I decided that if I painted one hundred, I might learn something. So I’m posting them here to mark my way, along with anything else that takes my fancy.
